It is evident by the responses that you have received that your mother, Mrs. Sonya Alston-Heyward, was a wonderful woman! May you (her children), along with her husband (Gene), all other family members, friends, neighbors, and former co-workers, be comforted in knowing that Sonya fought a tremendous fight until the very end! Though all of our hearts are saddened by her transition from earth to a greater glory, all of what she brought to each of us will forever be cherished in lasting memories. Your mother did very well with each of you and all of her "adopted / God babies" too! There was never a stranger to her because of the genuine love she had for people. May her life here on earth speak volumes and be remembered through each of you. Continue to make your mother proud by living a life that will forever be pleasing to God! Your entire family is full of loving and caring individuals, so you all will get through this life surrounded by a wealth of love and opportunities to demonstrate that "God-kind of love" that your mother imparted in each of you!
