Sirley Lounsbury Obituary

Former Soldotna resident Shirley Mae Lounsbury of Salem, Ore., loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at the age of 83.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at Salem Evangelical Church with Pastor Randy Butler officiating.
Shirley was born on May 19, 1928 in Upland, Calif., to Jerome and Eva Walton. She was raised in California and moved to Alaska with her husband, Jack Lounsbury in 1955. She was very adventurous and along with her husband opened many businesses and raised their three children while living in Soldotna from 1960-1991. Retiring to Bakersfield in 1991, Shirley and Jack had many happy years traveling and spending time with friends and family. They moved from Bakersfield to Salem, Ore. in the spring of 2004.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Lounsbury Jr; son, John H. Lounsbury III and granddaughter, Melissa A. Davidson.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Wayne Davidson of Salem; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Lupe Lounsbury of Bakersfield; seven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family requests remembrances to Salem Evangelical Church, 455 Locust Ave. N, Salem, OR 97303.

Arrangements are by Virgil T Golden Funeral Services.
