Sim Waid Obituary
WAID, SR., Sim J. Sim J. Waid, Sr. of North Charleston, SC, passed away at his home on August 17, 2007. He was born April 11, 1922, in Bambridge, Georgia to Dewey M. Wade and Betsy J. Wade. He was a Sergeant in the Army during World War II. He served in the Pacific. He worked for Hess Oil Company and was a Security Guard for the Naval Hospital. He leaves behind his sweetheart of 60 years, Letha Durr Waid, a daughter and son-in-law, Sondra Waid Kucklick and Jeff Kucklick of North Charleston, a son, Sim John Waid, Jr., (Butch) of Hanahan; two grandchildren, Jeff Kucklick, Jr. of Moncks Corner and Sabrina Coshow of North Charleston and two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Reagan; a brother, John Wade of Summerville, three sisters, Becky Clements of Goose Creek, Julia Annette Beatty of Goose Creek and Ida Risher of North Charleston. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service of Mr. Waid in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at ten o'clock. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's North Area Chapel, Monday, August 20, 2007 from six until eight o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Hospice Care, 410 Mill Street, Suite 401, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. I will miss you very much. I am glad that my family got to see you before you passed. You were always pleasent and had a kind word for everyone you met. You inspired me to try and do the same. We love you and will miss you.

This man made a significant impression on everyone that met him. He was wise with a good sense of humor.He was a great father, husband, uncle, and the best friend that my Dad ever had. He will be sorely missed by everyone and will have all the angels smiling as he walks through the gates of heaven.

You and your husband have been such a blessing to me. My grandparents loved you dearly and I know that you will miss him. I remember he always had time for me to sit on his lap and tell me a story as a child.

We will miss you, Uncle Waid. I sure loved going fishing with you and going to the gas stations you owned. It was one of my favorite things to do when I was a kid. You will be deeply missed and we love you. Condolences Aunt Letha and family.
