Shirley Tralies Mt. Pleasant - It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Annette Tralies, 73, of Mount Pleasant, SC, announce her passing on January 25, 2021. Born on April 16, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Drexel Hill, PA. Shirley was the daughter of the late Stephen E. Tkaczyk and Sylvia Fish Tkaczyk. Shirley was a graduate of Harcum College with a degree in retail Merchandising and worked as a buyer for John Wannamaker in Philadelphia as well as owning with her daughter the former boutique, The Curtain Exchange here in Mount Pleasant. Shirley supported Phil in his career without hesitation to live and raise a family in eight different cities and states. She would always open her house and kitchen, with a smile, to whatever out of town guests her husband would bring home. To include guests from Europe and Asia, who may or may not have spoken any English! Shirley was a giver and everybody's friend. She was the "adoptive mother" to her children's friends and always had a shoulder for someone to cry on. Besides her husband, Phil, Shirley is survived by her son Philip (Kimberly) and daughter Kathleen King and her grandchildren Elizabeth, Carter and Michael and her brother Stephen Tkaczyk (Debbie) of Chambersburg, PA The family will receive friends from 5 PM - 7 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. A Rosary will be prayed at 5 PM. A Burial of Christian Mass will be held at Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at St Benedict's Catholic Church, 950 Darrell Creek Trail, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466.
