i am so sad and sorry about the news of Shirley's death. My mother saw the announcement in the Post and Courier and showed it to me. I got very ill in 1991, and stayed with the bank until I felt I could no longer work at Bank of America. I had moved by then to Charlotte, and after several jobs, was an EVP in Risk Management, in charge of the larger loans of the East Coast of the bank. I always loved Jerry, and the rest of your family. I wanted so much to be in touch with you all, especially after I learned that Jerry had died. I was crushed. But since you didn't
respond to my first letter after our divorce, I didn"t think you would want to hear from me at his death. But this is an opportunity to tell you how much I did always love you, all of you. And how I wish I could have stayed friends with you and seen you periodically. Shirley was such a kind, lovely woman. She did things for people that others would not, and had a wonderful nature.
and she was a wonderful mother. I loved her. I will always remember her, and I will always remember the rest of you for the rest of my life. All I can offer is my condolences, and say that if I ever can do anything for any of you, please let me know. My best to you and your father, and my love, Mari.

I have known Shirley for much of my life. She and my sister were good friends growing up in Florence. She was a special person and one that I will miss. Sincere sympathy and love to Jim and her family. May she rest now in heavenly peace.
