Shirley Schmidt
Shirley M. Schmidt, nee Hofstetter, 69, of Columbia, Ill., born Sept. 11, 1936, in East Carondelet, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at her residence.
Mrs. Schmidt was preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. Schmidt; her parents, Elmer and Julia, nee Noble, Hofstetter.
Surviving are two sisters, Joann (Jerry) Woodward of Columbia, Ill., and Edna (Ray) Wetzel of East Carondelet, Ill.; two nephews, Edward Wetzel of Granite City, Ill., and Elmer (Debbie) Wetzel of East Carondelet, Ill.; three nieces, Caroline (Robert Jr.) Simcoke of St. Charles, Mo., Mary (Michael) Langford of Hartford, Ala., and Carrie (Michael) Quante of Columbia, Ill.; six great-nephews; and four great-nieces.
Memorials may be made to the Columbia Public Library.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, Ill., with the Rev. Mark Queener officiating. Interment will be in Mount Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt, Ill.
