Shirley Fabian Obituary

Shirley Fabian Summerville - Shirley Luther Fabian, resident of Summerville SC, born March 28, 1935 went to meet her Lord Jesus early Tuesday morning, March 1, 2016. Mrs. Fabian, born in Ft. Worth, TX, graduated high school at the Herbert Hoover High School in San Diego where she met her husband of 50 years. Moving to SC, she worked as a Librarian at the Charleston Naval Shipyard until becoming a stay at home mother. She later went to work for and retired as a state employee having worked with the Charleston County School District and SC Public Broadcast Station. She was a member of Deer Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph D. Fabian, Sr., her father, Ervin R. Luther, mother, Edna Luther Stewart, step-mother Inez Luther, and brother Roland "Ron" Luther. She is survived by her 5 children and their spouses: Dann and Tina Fabian, Cindy and Jim Holder, Rebecca and Keith Barrineau, Cassie and Brian Wagner and John and Kathy Fabian; her 6 grandchildren and their spouses: Chris and Emily Fabian, Lyndsey and Keith Kalson, J.D. and Heather Pearson, Sara and Scott Williams, Adam and Natalie Wagner.and Ian Fabian; 4 great-grandchildren: Amara and Ava Pearson, Sheylah Holder, and Amelia Williams; and 2 step great-grandchildren, Kaori Kalson and Brooke Williams. Also her brother Marc D. and Irene Luther and their son and daughter; and her sister-in-law, Margaret Luther and her 3 sons, all of TX, and her cousins: Clydeen Stogdill of GA, Wanda Carman of OK, George Prater of OR, Larry Prater of CA, Jackie King of CA and Dawn MacTaggart of TX. A special thanks to Becky and Keith Barrineau and neighbor Betty Polzin and to Hospice of Charleston for their special care and assistance during this time. Visitation will be at Parks Funeral Home on March 4th from 6 to 8pm, and on March 5th from 10am with service to follow at 11am in Parks Chapel followed by graveside service at the Dorchester Memory Gardens at 11000 Dorchester Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2090 Executive Hall Rd., Charleston, SC 29407.
