Shelby Jean Rowe Douglas HEMINGWAY, SC - Shelby Jean Rowe Douglas, 78, widow of John Angus Ray Douglas, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014. Mrs. Douglas was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late James E. and Lucy Cribb Rowe. She was retired from Tupperware Mfg. Co., a lifelong member of Center Baptist Church, where she was involved in Sunday School and missions. She was a compassionate and caring woman who loved God, her family and friends and shall be missed by all. As her grandchildren would say, "She was the best Granny in the whole world!" Surviving are her children, Renee Lawrimore of Manning, Shelby (Don) Trento of Naples, FL, John (Noriene) Douglas of Mt. Pleasant and Donald Douglas of Hemingway; granddaughters, Faith (J. P.) Truesdale of Johnsonville, Erin Douglas of New York, NY and Kelly Douglas of Macon, GA; great-grandchildren, Jake, Lucy and AnnElise Truesdale; sister, Joyce (Floyd) Tyler of Isle of Palms and Patsy (Rubeth Earl) Williams of Hemingway; brother, James "Jimmy" (Linda) Rowe of Hemingway; a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Douglas was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ella Owens. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Center Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in the Center Baptist Church, 2602 Schoolhouse Drive, Hemingway, SC 295554.
