Shelba Pender Obituary

Shelba Pender N. Charleston - Shelba Romesburg Pender, 81, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister died Thursday, May 31st, 2018. Shelba was born in Metter, GA on March 22nd, 1937 to Hubert Harry and Lydia "Inez" Edwards Romesburg. Shelba retired from Naval Facilities Command Charleston as a Purchasing Agent. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. Shelba was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie O. Pender, Jr, her parents and brother Glenn Romesburg. She is survived by her sons, Mark Pender (Donna) Summerville, Gil Pender (Sue) Clarksville, TN, and daughter Lynn McElveen, Summerville, grandchildren; Michael Banks, Julia Banks, Lauren Pearce, Jenna Brown, Stephen Pender, Nicole Gracey, and Kristen Pender. Shelba was also the proud Mamaw to five great grand-daughters. She is also survived by three brothers, Harry Romesburg, Jr, Soddy Daisy, TN, David Romesburg, Winston Salem, NC and Jerry Romesburg, Soddy Daisy, TN. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 5th at 1 PM in the Chapel of Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 - 1PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
