Sharon Powell Obituary

Sharon G. Powell SUMMERVILLE - Sharon G. Powell, 64, of Summerville, wife of Larry V. Powell, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 30, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, September 6, 2013 from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock PM at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Big Oak Ranch, PO Box 507, Springville, Alabama 35146. Sharon was born March 17, 1949 in Bluefield, West Virginia, daughter of the late Lee E. Gillespie and Jackie Simmons. She was a graduate of North Charleston High School. She worked for Hunters Manufacturing and Lorilard Tobacco for many years. She was a member of Oakbrook AA. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, watching Alabama football with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband are: one daughter: Mikki Hogg Bowman of Summerville, granddaughter: Ashley Harvey-Lange of Summerville and grandson: Trey Harvey of Summerville, great-grandchildren: James, Nathan, Payton and Lucas Lange and Mikayla Harvey, one sister: Debra Cantwell of Charleston two brothers: Lee Gillespie, Jr. of Iowa and Bobby Gillespie of Iowa and her dog Emma Lou. Grandma sharon as my sister & I called her all the time, my sister & I will miss you dearly! We will miss you but we'll always remember you as a sweet,loving, & caring woman. I always enjoyed playing with ashley & trey in your yard, petting your dogs, giving you hugs, & when you would whip us up some snacks! :) We'll miss you & the good times but we'll always have you stored in our heart & our memories!
