Shanna Nelson Obituary

To a dear friend,



I know we are only here for a short while, and then we are gone. However, I can truly say your life’s living will never be in vein. We came from a one room church were we ushered, sang on the choir, said our Easter and Christmas speeches together. Yes, I am older but you kept me in line, if only with that look that only a mother could give.



I will miss the conversations we had as I drove home from late classes’ college classes. You were always there to talk to me, so I would not fall asleep, until I got home or out of cell phone range. We planed to open a business together, we didn’t know what type of business it would be, but we knew we were going open one. :)



You maybe gone but your love and smile still linger in the hearts of many. No your life’s living will never be in vein, it continues to remind me of the person I would like to be when I grow up. So sleep my dear friend, for I am striving to be with you one day and we can truly sing and shout all over God’s Heaven. I will always love and cherish your memory, my dear Shanna.

My condolences go out to the Nelson/Ravenel family. Shanna was a year ahead of me in school. She was a very loving and happy person. The last time I saw Shanna was at St. Mark in Ravenel where she sang beautifully. Just remember that God knows best. Shanna will be missed but not forgotten. My prayers are with the family.

I met Sis. Nelson at St.Paul UM when I ministered there on Mother's Day, she began to sing under the anointing and she bless me so.

No one can begin to know exactly how everyone feels, except to know that sorrow such as yours is deep and real. So cast every care to the Most High God for he careth for you.

Shanna will be missed, but God needed another voice in the Kingdom to sing a High Praise.

To the Nelson/Ravenel families:

As a part of this family my heart aches for this great loss to us. We can say that she is not "lost" because we all know where she is. Singing on the Heavenly choir as she did here on earth. Shanna fullfilled her purpose here with us. It may seem like a short time, but she has touched the lives of many through her beautiful singing, smiles, jokes, and laughter. I will always remember her for those things. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Be strong Jason, I know that you loved her, but God loves her best. I love all of you and am praying for you.

Shanna and I worked together at Sam's Club. Shanna was a very sweet person with a voice of an angel. My prayers are with the Nelson/Ravenel family. She will be greatly missed.

It's hard to come to turns with the reality of shanna's passing.

Shanna was a very humorous and loveable person. Shanna and I were classmates. As a mother of two

it's hard to imagine the effects this tragedy will have on her children. That is why it is important to lift her children and family up in prayer daily.



We must also remember that God is in control, we must love each other, live life to the fullest, live the word of God. Shanna excepted christ as her savior. This is the greatest gift and memory of all.

To my Family at a time like this there is not much we can say that will sooth the hurt, but just remember weeping edures for a night but in the morning comers joy. We all miss shanna very much, but if there's a choir shanna is surely singing. Hold your heads up and remember the GOOD times From Aunt Earlene,Uncle Leon Dover & Family We are praying for you all.

It is so hard to say Good-bye. Shanna and I worked together at OSI-AT&T. This is where we met and became close friends. I had not spoken to Shanna since late 2002 when I moved to Atlanta, but I always questioned her whereabouts on my home visits. I cant begin to imagine the pain that Jason and the family is going through but please know that my prayers are with you always. God has called her home and now she is going to see over all of us. I love you Shanna and you will be missed. Your friend Chenelle

Shanna and I played together and went to the same elementary school. You never forget the people you meet while growing up because in a sense and even in the slightest way they all help shape who you become as an adult. I remember Shanna as a very sweet and shy person and am thankful for the opportunity we had as children together. We lived in Ravenel and did not have many tangible possessions but as children we had our families and each other and that was enough.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Shanna and I met through my husband Napoleon,they used to work together and they were good friends. I remember her as a very sweet and friendly person. She will be missed by the both of us. To the Ravenel/Nelson families keep your heads up high and know that Shanna is in the best care. You are always in our prayers!

I remember the first time I saw Shanna, it was the summer of 96.

We both worked at Hardee's.We became the best of friends. I would joke with her about being the owner of the town of Ravenel. I would always ask her can I buy the toun, I the name will not change. I love to hear her sing CHILLY WINDS.

My prayer and condolences are with you. Shanna and I were classmates as well as friends. It's hard to beleive that the person that kept us smiling is gone, but may the memory of her smile keep us strong in our faith to remember that God knows best. Shanna will be greatly missed.

Sherell, you and I have been friends for 25 years and we have been through alot together. Our children have always been large parts of our lives. It is that fact that makes this junction such a difficult one. Even though, we are sisters and friends for life, I can't begin to offer advice during these times, but I can offer of the most important attributes in our lives, the Words of God. Psalm 121:7-8 states "The Lord will keep you from all harm-he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forever". May the grace of our Lord, the Saviour, forever be with you all during this very difficult time. I know that it is hard to see a brighter day right now, but look to God from where your strength comes. You all have and will forever be in my heart. I love you all and to God forever Be the glory.

It has been awhile since I've seen Shanna, but the last time I saw her we were in church and she sang the song "On my way home". She was a beautiful person and she will be missed.

15 years of friendship is what Shanna and I had. I had not spoken to her since earlier this year, but our meetings were like we saw each other everyday. I still can remember Shanna being the first friend that I met in the 6th grade. I remember all the great times we shared as if they were yesterday. Its very hard to believe that Shanna is gone, but God has a perfect plan for each of us; we don't know the minute, hour, nor the day our time will come. We must trust and know that Shanna is in a better place now; free of all troubles, illnesses and pain. Remember God will take care and provide for the Nelson/Ravenel families. "Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal" Shanna will always be loved and remain in my heart.

I would just like to say that Shanna was a dear fried of mine too. I really cant believe what happened. But only God knows best. Shanna will be saddly missed but not forgotten.

I hadn't seen Shanna since, June 7th 1997, until recently about three weeks ago. I was delivering a parcel to her home, so i blew the horn... Beep! Beeep! Here came Shanna, just as happy as in high school. We were so excited to have seen each other. The short visit brought back old memories of High School. The good and fun times. But now I know that Shanna is in a better place. Saddly missed, but never forgotten. With Deepest Sympathy.

My friend since high school. I regret the fact that we didnt stay as close as we were.But it seems like yesterday. My heart, as heavy as it is knows that God knows best. Just last week you ran across my mind and still I didnt call. With age comes maturity. So,I wanted to take the time to let you and the family know that I loved you then and now.
