SGT. BRADLEY DAVID MARTIN, AGE 30, and SON COBY LEE MARTIN, AGE 9 Obituary

Sgt Bradley Martin, age 30, and son, Coby Lee Martin, age 9, of Leland, died Friday, March 14, 2008, in a motor vehicle accident.
Bradley was born in Memphis, TN, on March 8, 1978, to the late Nancy Boyd Goudie and David Martin, Jr. He was employed full time at Time Warner Cable and an active member of the NC Army National Guard. Brad served in the 1st/120 Scout Platoon OIF2 and was proud to have received the combat patches of the 1st and 30th Infantry Divisions for active duty in Iraq. Brad co-organized the first annual "Support the Veterans" rally which is to take place at Britt's Motorsports in Wilmington, on April 19th. Funds raised from the rally will go to "Step up for Soldiers, a nonprofit organization that helps support families of fallen veterans. He was a great husband, father and friend. He was recently preceded in death by his grandfather, David Martin, Sr.
Coby was born in Wilmington, NC, on June 24, 1998, to Bradley and Tina Dix Martin. He attended school at Belville Elementary and was in the 4th grade. He and his father loved many of the same things and looked forward to participating in them together. They both enjoyed hockey, fishing, motorcycle riding, electronic games, the Cub Scouts, and most importantly "Coby loved to be with his dad".
Both are survived by wife and mother, Tina Martin; son and brother, Kalani Martin; as well as grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted jointly at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 19, 2008, in the Apostolic Tabernacle on Wellington Avenue by Pastor L E Logue. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens with full military honors for both Bradley and Coby.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
