Senetta Hubbard Obituary

Senetta Martin Rahn Hubbard, 87, of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of August 29, 2025, in a North Charleston hospital. Born on January 18, 1938, in Holly Hill, SC, she was the daughter of Gilmore Limuel Martin and Maybelle Pearl Mims Martin. Mrs. Hubbard was a devoted member of the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, where she actively participated in the Guilds Scott Sunday School Class, taught Sunday School and Bible School, and served on the congregational care committee. She was also a member of the Gideons Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She graduated from Holly Hill High School and furthered her education at the College of Charleston. Mrs. Hubbard retired from the Navy Housing Authority, and in her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling across the United States with her husband and friends, with a special fondness for visiting the Winchester Creek Campground in the NC mountains. Mrs. Hubbard's hobbies included sewing, crocheting, baking, and cooking for her family and friends. She cherished moments spent with friends over coffee, and her favorite treat was ice cream. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Hubbard was first married to Willis L. Rahn until his death in 2007, after which she married Rev. Hugh H. Hubbard, Jr., whom she remained married to until his death in 2019. Surviving are her daughter, Debra Rahn Mitchum and her husband Roger of Pinopolis; her son, Willis L. Rahn, Jr., and his wife Julie of Summerville; her stepdaughters, Tyna M. Milcetich and her husband Mark of Moncks Corner, and Hilliary Leonard and her husband David of OH; her stepson, Hugh Hubbard, III, and his wife Heather of OH; her grandchildren, Courtney Barts and her husband Tim, Eliza Hock and her husband William, Cole Mitchum, and Willis L. 'Trey' Rahn, III; her great-grandchildren, Penelope Barts, Benji Hock, and Jonah Hock; and several additional step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and step great-great grandchildren. Her funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, September 6, 2025, at the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, followed by interment in Biggin Cemetery directed by Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 PM until the hour of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, 106 Church Street, Moncks Corner, SC or to the PCSC Foundation Employee Appreciation Fund, 201 West 9th Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Yesterday

Senetta lived next door from my family (Ann and Harry Burk along with my sister, Susan Burk Postell and me, Carol Burk). We loved the whole family. Senetta was a great mother. My sister and I loved to play with the children.

We will miss Senetta. She was a wonderful wife and mother!
