Scott Eugene Wright
Summerville - Scott Eugene Wright, age 74, of Summerville, SC passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his residence on 3/11/2026. A memorial service will be held on April 30, 2026 at 4:00 PM, at Summerville Presbyterian Church, officiated by Pastor Anita Herbert, followed by a reception in that church's Lanneau Hall, at 407 Laurel Ave, Summerville, SC. Internment took place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, in Anneville, PA.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Karl E Wright and Janet M Wright.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Pulst Wright, his son, Justin Karl-Ludwig Wright, of Catasauqua, PA and his daughter, Kaitlyn Danielle Wright-Filla, of Kennewick, WA and his granddaughter, Marley Filla, and his sister, Karen Wright Broughal, of Bethlehem, PA.
Born June 28, 1951 to Janet and Karl Wright in Reading, PA, Scott grew up in Camp Hill, PA and attended high school in Newport, PA, and college at the University of Miami, Florida. He served his country in the United States Air Force, a Viet Nam Veteran. Honorably discharged, he was employed until his retirement, by Naval Sea Logistics Center in Mechanicsburg and in 1983 was married to his wife, Dorothy. They raised their children in Newport, PA, and moved to Summerville, SC in 2015.
Scott also was owner of a computer repair service, Newport Tek Services. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed taking his children on camping and travel adventures. Additionally, he was an accomplished keyboard player, performing in various bands throughout the years in both PA and SC. He was a longtime member of the VFW, and a member of the Drum and Bugle Corp in Newport, PA. He was also a member of the SC State Honor Guard. Scott was a very likeable fellow, always quick to lend a hand, and as in life, he was able to give to others in death through the gift of tissue and cornea donation through Sharing Hope SC.
As a member of Summerville Presbyterian Church, he served on the Property Committee.

Scott and I played in several south central PA bands; met him at work in Mechanicsburg,PA. Had a common love for R&B, he played a Hammond organ with so much soul; will miss you my friend

Scott was a long-time coworker and friend. He was a unique individual and there was never a dull moment when Scott was around. I will miss him. Condolences to his family.
