Mr. Jim and Ms. Emma,

You have been our wonderful next door neighbors for so many years. We love you both and were so very sorry to hear this terrible news of Scott passing. We here on earth are experiencing loss from his passing, but our prayers are that our loss is his gain. We send our love, our sincere concern, and open our arms and stand ready to help you in any way as you grieve and heal. May God bless you both and your family through all this

Wende, I am so very sorry to hear of Scott's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Where o where does one begin after hearing of the death of a son [Scott] of two of my friends.[Jim & Emma]. I have known Jim & Emma since 1966. As a new Field Director with the Great Smokey Council in Knoxville, Tn. it was my pleasure to meet one of the finest Professional District Scout Executive, Jim Dalton.


It was three years later that Scott was born. Our families have stayed in touch with each other after I left in 1973 to take another assignment in Birmingham, Al. Jim later moved to Jackson Tn. To serve as Scout Executive. We have continued to be VERY close friends and he has shared with me the milestones in Scotts life and how excited he was when Scott became a Proffessional District Scout Executive and his promotions. It proved that a good Apple does not fall far from the tree. Especially one that had been pruned and nourished.


My son was born two and a half months after Scott and I do know the experience of having a son for forty four years, but no one can feel the pain of Jim and Emma at this time. We can only offer ourselves to be of comfort any way we can and ask God be with them and strengthen them in this time of need.


Jim, Emma, Mary and I love you and yours and ask that God's Holy Spirit be with you and keep you in His loving Arms and give you Peace.


Until we meet again here or when we join Scott in the hearafter, we remain your friends.

I will always remember Scott-he was always at my mom and dad's house. He and my brother, Derek, were the closest of friends. Scott will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his kindness.
May the wings of angels lift him to heaven and keep his loved ones safe and secure with the knowledge that they will all be together again. Jim, Emma, David and Wendy please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Scott at the Coastal Carolina BSA Council Office several years ago; I was there to ask for some volunteer help for a local event being held at Marion Square in downtown Charleton. We chatted a lot about the common things we had in out pasts. I am from Knoxville, Tennessee & Scott knew my father(Doug Ferguson, Jr.) & brother (Douglas Ferguson, III) as well as my uncle & aunt (Fred E. & Sandra Ferguson) all through the Boy Scouts of America. Jim and my father had worked together at a variety of levels with the local Great Smokey Mountains Council Office and with the Order of the Arrow, Camp Buck Toms, and then in the Southeast Region; & both Scott & Jim had worked with my aunt & uncle through the Coastal Carolina Council in Hilton Head Island.
Although, we only met in person that one time, Scott followed up back with me several times on the phone.
Scott was one of the nicest & most helpful people I think I have ever met.

I am so sorry for your loss and will be thinking of Scott's family through out this diffcult time.

Jim and Emma - While visiting the Scout Ofc yesterday, I was stunned to be told of Scott's passing. He was one of the nicest guys I have ever met and had the pleasure of working. God Bless and be with you Emma, and the entire Dalton family. Jodie and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Scott was hatch into this world and had over 42 years quality to run his course...match with great parents,family and friends and was detached from this life as we know it here on earth.

As the Swamp fox District Commissioner he and I spent many hours on the phone and recruiting new scouters with him. My deepest sympathy to Scott's family. I have some of the best childhood memories of Scott. We went to high school together. I grew up across the street from Sean Corley and that is my first memory of meeting Scott. We formed a tight little group back in those days, riding around in that baby blue Nova and cruising the Multi-Cinemas and Putt-Putt. I will hold those times close to my heart. I pray that God will comfort you during this difficult time.

I knew Scott when he worked at McEntire Air National Base as firefighter and EMT. He was a wonderful employee and great friend. Wende, I am sorry for your loss, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Scott was always a great guy! Always cutting up and making others laugh! I bent his ear many times and he was one of the most trustworthy people! I'm so very sorry for your loss. I pray The Lord wraps you in His arms and eases some of your pain.

I'm shocked and saddened by the loss of Scott. My thoughts are with his family and friends. His obituary paints a picture of a wonderful man dedicated to helping others and I know his impact will live on. I'll always remember him as a teenager as we all made our way through growing up. He will be greatly missed.

A great guy Scott was, always a smile or something to talk about. Cars or music was as deep as our concerns were in high school. We have only recently connected through Facebook.
