Sarah Lockwood Obituary

Sarah Lockwood Mt. Pleasant - Sarah Segars Lockwood, 95, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018, in Mt. Pleasant. She was a resident of the Villages at Summerville for 14 years. Born on July 31, 1922, at Camden, SC, she was a daughter of the late Burrell Washington Segars and the late Edith Moore Segars. She was married to the late Col. Allison Lee Lockwood, Jr. in Charleston, SC. They lived in Mt. Pleasant, SC, for many years, where they raised their daughters. They were members of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Sarah enjoyed her church activities, working in the yard and being with her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, love for her family and devotion to her Christian faith. Sarah was predeceased by her husband; brothers, Frank Segars and Burrell Segars; and sisters, Ellen Rogerson and Anne Mason. Sarah is survived by daughters, Jan Pollard (Joe) and Carole Hassell (Clai) along with six grandchildren, Sarah Long (Michael), Clai Hassell, Jr., Katharine Hassell, Keven Pollard, Caroline Morris and Lock Pollard and many loving nieces and nephews. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 302 Hibben St., Mt Pleasant, SC 29464. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall. Burial will be private. In addition to flowers, memorial donations may be sent in her honor to Mt.
