Saradell was born January 12, 1947 in Spartanburg, SC, daughter of William Benton Austin and Sarah Pooser Austin. In the 8th grade, Saradell's family relocated to Cameron, SC, where she met the love of her life and best friend, Brian. Saradell was a school teacher who happily set aside her chalk and erasers to focus on her life's work of raising two amazing men and several fur babies. Traveling, snow skiing, mountain hiking, competing on her tennis team, and cheering for the Clemson Tigers were among her favorite activities. Additionally, she was an active member of Harbor View Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder twice, as a teacher for both Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and as everyone's favorite alto in the choir. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Brian Dantzler of Summerville, SC; two children, Austin Samuel Dantzler (Dawn) of Charlotte, NC and Tradd William Dantzler (Sarah) of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Aubrey, Corinne and Nicholas; sister-in-law, Carol Austin of Summerville, SC; brother-in-law, Bruce Dantzler (Lyn) of Little Rock, AR; sister-in-law Sharon Dantzler of Greenville, SC, and her beloved dogs, Lucy and Linus. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, William Benton Austin, II, her brother-in-law Rodney Dantzler, and her Jack Russell terrier, Maggie. Memorials may be made to Harbor View Presbyterian Church, 900 Harbor View Road, James Island, SC 29412 and/or Dorchester Paws, 136 4 Paws Lane, Summerville, SC 29483. Our condolences to Brian and the Dantzler family. We both remember how vibrant Saradell always was, with a smile for everyone she met. In the choir, she was always ready to learn new music and lend her beautiful voice to the massed sound. Rest in peace, Saradell.

Saradell was always the smart one in our class. She and Brian have been a role model to all of us in the Cameron High School Class of 1965. She will be missed at our next reunion and by all of us.

So very sorry to hear this. Saradell & I first met at Winthrop when we roomed across the hall from each other. After college, we went our separate ways until our paths crossed again when I became a patient of Brian´s. Saradell will be remembered by me for her kind & giving nature. She will be greatly missed by her family & friends.
