Sandra Richey Obituary

Sandra Richey Bonneau Beach, SC - Sandra Ann Richey was born July 19, 1930, and passed into the Kingdom of Our Lord on Saturday August 25, 2018. She died peacefully at her home in Bonneau Beach, South Carolina. Sandra was born in Andersen, Indiana, a daughter of Juanita May and Karl Roth. She was united in marriage with William Hobson "Bill" Richey for 55 years when he preceded her in death. Sandra worked as a cashier on the Air Force Base, as a telephone operator, and as a singer before becoming a full-time homemaker and community volunteer. She was an honorary member of the Bonneau Beach Voluntary Fire Department, a long-time member of the Bonneau Beach Civic Club, and led the Bonneau Cancer Support Group that had been founded by her late husband and the late Father Ernest Kennedy. She was also a member of the St. Stephen United Methodist Church. To see her smile, you would only need to ask her to talk about living in Alaska or eating prosciutto in Italy. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, watching the Braves, and spending time with her friends. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Lisa Ann Richey and her husband, Dr. Stefano Ponte, and her grandchildren Sasha, Arianna and Zeno William, all of Copenhagen, Denmark. The family appreciates the care she received over many years from dear friends including Tom and Shirley Galloway, Helen and Bill Joy, Lisa and Clay Kolb, and Pastor Bonnie Miller. Her memorial service will be 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, September 1, 2018, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until the hour of service on Saturday.
