Sandra Rhodes Obituary

So sorry for your loss. I knew Sandra my whole life, sorry I didn't keep in touch especially after Sonny passed.

Sandra and I started our friendship in Awendaw Elementary school first grade with 8 other students thru the seventh grade. There were 5 girls and 5 boys. We spent after school time visiting each other's homes. We also went to 4H Club summer camp together. I moved to My Pleasant for high school and on into adulthood without her for a while but when I returned to Awendaw to live we became close friends again. The night her Mom passed we had met at Mrs Davis's empty home and Sandra confided in me some of the tuffer times she had in her life. We were very close and special friends. When she needed extra help with her cleaning business she would call on me. I enjoyed assisting her. I know she was so very proud of her children. I sometimes felt she must have gone to medical school right along with Vincent. If I had a medical situation she always had a reasonable opinion of the problem Or she would inquire of Vincent. Little things...nothing serious. Wade was a treasure to his Mom. She loved living next door to him and enjoyed preserving food from that garden. Dorcas was a special daughter who occasionally went on some of the many trips Sandra enjoyed yearly. She also looked forward to the visits of the grand children. A few months ago Sandra gave me one of the pictures she colored. I framed it and will cherish it always. I cried with sadness when I read the beautiful announcement Dorcas wrote for Sandra's passing. I will truly miss my dear friend. May she rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.
