Sam,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in our time of sorrow. God will place no more on you than you can bear. In your time of despair, refer to John 4:1-3. Your father is definitely in a better place and smiling down as he continues to watch over you.

Samuletta and Family my prayers are with you at this time for the transition of your dad. I remember being baptized by Rev. Marshall alone with my triplet sisters. Whenever I came back home to visit the church your dad always gave me an opportunity to stand up for recognition and express a few words. Your father's spirit will live with me forever! Triplet#1

Sammie,
Words really can not begin to express what I am sure you are experiencing at this time with the loss of your Dad.
Your Dad was instrumental in my career as a Military Police Officer in the US Army. He sat on our front porch and convinced my grandmother (Nana) that the army was not just for men and that being a commissioned officer was a great accomplishment for a little county girl from Saint George,SC. He was there when I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant at South Carolina State in 1982.I cannot be there for you, but I spoke to God and called out your name and I ask if He would be there for you!

Sam, we are so sorry for your loss. Reverend Marshall was such a great person—always had something to say—whether comical or encouraging. He will live on in our memories forever. Be encouraged with these words: THE MEASURE OF A MAN: Not - "how did he die" But - "how did he live" Not - "what did he gain" But - "what did he give" These are the units To measure the worth Of a man, as a man, Regardless of birth.

Dear Sam,
My sincere sympathy to you on your dad's passing. I was shocked when I heard the news. I remember going to your house on the weekends, when you and I were roommates at State. The many good times we had swimming in the pool and spending time with your dad.
Mourning a loss as great as a dad is not easy, however, it is made more bearable by your faith. Knowing that death marks a beginning, not just an end, is one of the most comforting principles that faith teaches us.
You are in my prayers.
