Those we love dearly are always etched on our hearts and minds. The memories of them, and the love we've shared, live on through the experiences we've had together. So long as we hold onto those memories, they will remain entwined with each of our souls, inseparable, and bonded. That was, and always will be, true of Samantha Crusan.
Samantha Rae Crusan (nee Kidd), age 43 of
Summerville, South Carolina, went to be with Jesus unexpectedly at her home on Monday, January 26, 2026. She was loved dearly by an abundance of close family, friends and co-workers; whom she loved unconditionally.
Sam or Boo, as she is known, worked predominantly over the past 20 plus years in various administrative, financial and contractual support capacities. At the pinnacle of her profession, she was the Finance Director and Controller for a prominent Information Technology Company named InquisIT, LLC in Ashburn, Virginia that serves the U.S. Federal Government through transformative and innovative technologies, solutions, and support services. Sam excelled in this arena, and was an instrumental and driving force, contributing significantly to InquisIT's continued success. She was highly relied upon and deeply respected by the InquisIT team.
But most importantly to Sam and her devoted, loving husband, Andy were their two beautiful young daughters, whom they were blessed with following endless years of trying to conceive; Hadlee Rae Crusan (5) and Madison Leigh Crusan (1). Sam was always happiest, surrounded by her loving children and husband, many friends, and family members on special and spontaneous occasions.
Sam loved fiercely and cared deeply for the people in her life that she cherished most, she was an unmatched force. A loving wife and mother, a dear friend to those who needed it, a confidant always in your corner, a truly, one-of-a-kind, beautiful soul.
Sam is survived by her beloved and cherished friend of more than 30 years and husband of nearly 20 years Andrew (Andy) Crusan, her daughters Hadlee Rae and Madison Leigh; her mother Shari L. McNair; her mother-in-law Patricia Williams, her husband Steve, their children and grandchildren; her father-in-law Dan Crusan, his wife Linda, their children/step children and grandchildren; her devoted cousin Jason Tunnell and wife Michelle Wilson and their daughter; her aunts Debbie Rogers and Lisa Chafin, their children and grandchildren, and a loving bevy of first and second cousins, nieces and nephews. She had quite the large family and loved them all without fail.
Sam was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Herbert and Betty Poland, whom she adored and spent a significant part of her youth with, as well as other aunts and uncles who she will be re-united with in the heavenly realm.
The family is currently planning to hold a Celebration of Life in the
Summerville, South Carolina area in the Spring of 2026 and interment of her ashes will be addressed at a future time as well.
