So sorry I did not know of Sallye's passing until too late for funeral. My sympathy goes out to all of her family and friends. We had very special ties. Our birthdays were 2 days apart. We were Memminger High School classmates and Meredith College roommates. We had baby brothers born a few days apart in the same hospital when we were 15 yrs. old and we became instant nannies! We lived around the corner in Charleston for many years. Our families were close friends. We even double dated and were in each others weddings. We last visited in 1997 at our Meredith College 50 year reunion. Sallye has a special place in our hearts. Nancy (Resch) Clemmons and Frank Clemmons

Chris and Claudia,

One of my first experiences at Whitesides Elementary School was meeting your mom and watching one of her incredible plays. I asked her why she put so much effort into the plays and she told me that's what the children would remember about her from their fourth-grade year. I can assure you, while we all remember those incredible plays, we remember her for so much more. She was always a leader on the faculty and somebody I could depend on. She was one of our most popular teachers with parents, students and coworkers. Sallye was an exemplary teacher, but an even better person. She modeled a love for children that was truly something special and of course the greatest love that she had was both of you.

You will be in my prayers during this difficult time, but rest assured that your mom is now in heaven resting in Jesus's arms.

Blessings,

Dave Schlachter

Chris,

Please accept my deepest sympathies regarding the Passing of your Mother. There are few things as difficult in Life as losing the one person responsible for bringing you into the world.

I am confident that she is resting comfortably in the hands of the Almighty being so proud of the great job that she did with you, Claudia & families.

Cordially,

Mrs Claussen was my teacher in Whitesides Elem. I will always remember her as a favorite teacher. She was always very helpful and I remember her smiling all the time. Our prayers are with each and everyone during this time of grief. I will always remember her for her teaching style.
