I was saddened today (1 year to the day after Randy's passing) to find this sad news of my friend's death. Randy and I would chat occassionally online and on the phone after I moved to S. California. After no replies I finally investigated more only to find this tragic news. Randy lived life to its fullest, and was a caring friend. I will miss him dearly. I wish the very best to his family and loved ones. Rest in Peace, my friend.

During the Summer of 1968 I was a Camp Counselor at The Citadel Summer Camp for Boys. Randy was my supervisor and had the responsibility of overseeing major aspects of the camps operation. He was a natural leader and excellent role model for the boys and staff members. He will be sorely missed. He exemplifies the Citadel's goal of producing "Citizen-Soldier's" and leaders for our nation. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

I just wish I could recall all the times that Randy enriched the contents of my magazines, The Absolute Sound and The Perfect Vision, and my own life with his- what was that phrase, remarkable zest?- for grabbing life by the horns and shaking it for all it was and is worth. In particular, I shall miss that very dry wit.
