Ryan Floyd Obituary

Ryan D. Floyd RIDGEVILLE, SC - Ryan D. Floyd, 65, of Ridgeville, husband of Nadine (Smyly) Floyd, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. Friends and family may call at First Baptist Church of Jedburg, 121 Brewer Road, Summerville on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 10 o'clock until hour of service. Funeral services will begin at 11 o'clock AM. Burial will be private. Ryan was born on December 25, 1950 in Williamsburg County, SC son of the late Lois Francis Floyd and Pauline Floyd. He was a graduate of Berkeley High School and received an Associate's degree from Trident Technical College. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from SPAWAR as a Fiber Optic Technician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Ryan was an active member of First Baptist Church of Jedburg. Surviving in addition to his wife Nadine are: two children: Vincent Knowlton (Kay) of Bonneau, SC and Treva Thomas (Jessie) of Ft. Belvoir, VA; five grandchildren: Miranda Whitlock (Charles), Kaylyn Mitchum (Travis), Jacob Knowlton (Taylor), Gage Thomas and Declan Thomas; one great grandson: Sutton Reed Whitlock; eight siblings: Frances Bazzle, Cynthia Johnson (Ken), Lawanda Wong (Reggie), Linda Gail Metzger (Dale), Marilyn Brown (Bruce), June Perry (Troy), Ken J. Floyd (P.J.) and Rev. Stafford Floyd (Pam); several loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research Center, Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, 600 N. Wolfe Street, Carnegie 417, Baltimore, MD 21287 or MUSC Children's Hospital, 135 Rutledge Avenue, Charleston, SC 29425.
