Ruth Ellen Young Ravenel, SC - Ruth Ellen Young, 65, of Ravenel, SC, entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 15, 2021. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. For your safety, masks and social distancing are required. Ruth was born August 21, 1955 in Charleston, SC, daughter of Paul Young and Harriet Young. She graduated from St. Andrew's High School, and later, from Limestone College with a Bachelor's Degree. She worked as a bank teller for the Bank of the Lowcountry. One of her most defining qualities was how much she truly loved people. She is survived by her former husband, Allen O. Miller of North Charleston, SC; daughter, Tonya E Miller (Michael Zimmerman) of Ravenel, SC; sisters, Paulette Craig (Robert) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Linda Smith (Dale) of Atlanta, GA, and Sarah Corie (Roger); grandchildren, Victoria Hickman (Tyler Weekly), Michael Lane Shearer (Elise Fossi), and Miller Epps; dogs, Ollie, Luna, and Blue; and cat, Annie.
