Ruth N. Waters JOHNS ISLAND - Ruth N. Waters, 90, of Johns Island, South Carolina, wife of Charles McCoy Waters, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Her Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 19, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel. Ruth was born August 5, 1933 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lionel Nowell and Ruth Hart. She graduated from St. Andrews High School in Charleston, South Carolina. She was a member of First Christian Church of Charleston, South Carolina. She is survived by two sons, Levi Anthony "Tony" Waters; Charles McCoy Waters, Jr.; daughter, Charlene Brainerd (Web); granddaughter, Jennifer Brainerd. She was preceded in death by her father, Lionel Nowell; her mother, Ruth Hart; and sister, Mary Frances Knight.
