Ruth Rawley Obituary
AGE: 85 • Middletown
Ruth McCoy Rawley, 85, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2014.
She was born on September 20, 1928 to the late Ethlyn Frazer in Appleton, MD.
Ruth graduated from Middletown High school and went on to work at Bell Atlantic retiring in 1989. She enjoyed the beach and antiquing with her husband. Ruth was a Girl Scout leader and taught adult remedial reading at the Odessa Library. She was instrumental in forming the Middletown Women's Club, and was very involved in country line dancing at the M.O.T Senior Center where they travelled all over to perform. She also was a lifetime member of Bethesda U.M.C.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Foster I. Rawley, Jr., loving Uncle Harry McCoy, brother; Ralph Frazer, grandson; James John Biddle, and granddaughter; Cristina Diane Rawley.
She is survived by her children; Foster I. "Sandy" Rawley, III (Shirley), Sharon Goldsborough (Gilbert), Lynn Cox (Michael), Joan Cadmus (Paul), David J. Rawley, Sr. (Patricia), and Alesia Biddle (Earl), her sister, Florence Schneider, sister-in-law Rosalie Frazer, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St, Middletown, DE 19709, where friends may call from 10AM to 11:30AM. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, 312 Bethel Cemetery Rd, Chesapeake City, MD 21912
In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to M.O.T Senior Center, 300 S. Scott St., Middletown, DE 19709.
