Ruth Kirkland Obituary

Ruth Ganus Kirkland N. CHARLESTON - Ruth Ganus Kirkland, 87, widow of Kenneth W. Kirkland, of North Charleston, SC, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at a local assisted living facility. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, 107 Westpark Blvd., Suite 220, Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Kirkland was born January 17, 1927 in Augusta, GA, a daughter of Ira H. Ganus and Lena R. Parrish Ganus. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her two children, Melissa Evans of Boulder, CO, Tim Kirkland of Goose Creek, SC; two sisters, Lois Sogge of Augusta, GA and Gloria Reeves of Martinez, GA; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Kirkland, her two children, Pamela Isenberg and Kevin Kirkland, and two sisters, Faye Ganus and Mary Allred.
