Ruth Haithcock Heyward Griggs BENNETSVILLE, SC - Mrs. Ruth Haithcock Heyward Griggs, 88, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Dundee Manor in Bennettsville. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Burroughs-Cooper-Kiser Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Jody Flowers and Rev. Jimmie Sweatt, burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Born, November 29, 1923, in Marlboro County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Elizabeth Davis Haithcock. Mrs. Griggs was of the Methodist Faith. She was self-employed as a store owner for fifty years, where she impacted the lives of all with whom she came in contact. She was a wonderful mother who loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, James Thomas Heyward, and Edwin L. "Buck" Griggs; brothers, Marvin Haithcock, Jr., Rod Haithcock, Ed Haithcock, and Grady Haithcock; and sisters, Elizabeth Haithcock Crowley, Dorothy Haithcock Lowder, and Daphne Haithcock Gibbons Linder. She is survived by her sons; Bobby Ray Heyward and wife Diane of Moncks Corner, SC, Ronald E. Heyward (Julia) of Moncks Corner, SC, Donald J. Heyward of Charleston, SC, Edwin L. "Butch" Griggs, Jr. of Boynton, SC, William Keith Griggs (Barbara) of Moncks Corner, SC, Rayvon Lee Griggs of Huntsville, AL, and Glenn Shelton Griggs of Bennettsville, SC; Daughters, Tommie Jane Compton (Charlie) of Bennettsville, SC, Carolyn H. Quick (Alton) of Bennettsville, SC, Kay H. Franks (Warren) of Georgetown, SC, Wanda G. Brigman of Bennettsville, SC, Deana G. Beasley (Marvin) of Mooresville, NC, and Pamela G.
