Ruth Gregory N. Charleston - The family, relatives and friends of Reverend Ruth Hazel Gregory are invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, August 27, 2022, 12:30 PM, at New Tabernacle 2nd Missionary Baptist Church, 2204 Fillmore Street, North Charleston, SC. Interment at Riverview Memorial Park, 714 Azalea Drive, North Charleston, SC. A public viewing will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Low Country Mortuary, LLC and she will lie-in-state on Saturday from 11:30 AM until the hour of service at the church. Reverend Gregory was preceded in death by two sons, Marc E. Grant and Joseph Grant, III; three sisters, Helen (Count) Clindinin, Mildred (Isaac) Daniels, Gladys (Harold Lee) Haston; and six brothers, Thomas Washington, Benjamin Washington, Melvin (Emma) Washington, James (Queen Esther) Washington, Saul Washington, Jr., Joseph (Florence) Gillins, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Reverend Millicent (Reverend Isaac, Jr.) West of Hephzibah, GA and Leslie Godwin of Charleston, South Carolina; three sons, Gerald (Anissa) Grant of Charleston, South Carolina, Wesley Grant of Charleston, South Carolina and Steven (Cindy) Grant of Shreveport, LA; 24 grandchildren, Deidre' Grant, Mya Safford, Isaac (Tiffany) West, III, Mario (Adriane) King, Pierre Grant, Kennesha Grant, Ryghtieous Wise, Leigh Spann, Charlesa (Andre') Fuller, Gerard (Alexandria) Reid, Shadavion Grant, Brandon Grant, Tyell Grant, Khailen (Shaquan) Johnson, Ashia Grant, Omega Grant, Gerald G. Grant, Jr., Willie Grant, Patience Grant, Faithen Grant, Breona Grant, Nakia (Gregory) Fairley, Stevi Grant, and Steven C. Grant, II; 18 great-grandchildren; a special niece who was like a sister, Vina Daniels and close friend, Reverend Gwendolyn Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Due to COVID-19 protocols, everyone is required to wear a face mask for the viewing and Celebration of Life service.
