Dear Lydia, Jim & I are so very sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. Jim remembers her fondly however I never had the pleasure of personally meeting her.
Jim remembers her from the GOP County Conventions in the 60s and 70s where he said they shared the same politics. He said he's proud to say he played a key role in her nomination as 1st female Charleston County GOP Chairman in 1974. She will be missed by many. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time of sorrow and may you find comfort in your memories.
Sincerely, Jim & Gloria Hayes

Thoughts and prayers to all of you. Such a huge loss for all of us touched by Aunt Ruth's loving spirit. She always provided great wisdom and enlightenment to any question or problem you sought her advice on. She will always be in my heart! I could sit for hours as she communicated to my children when they were little, how she cared about what was going on in their little lives. She could always solve their world's problems. Her animation and interest in what you had to say, always made you feel like what you had to say was important and meaningful. She would always say, this is your "great" Aunt Ruth. Great was a perfect description of how she impacted my life as a little girl and on up to my adult years. Her visits were always full of laughter, insight and lots of love will always be cherished and remembered. She knew always knew what to say, and when to say it. She was always fun and full of adventure. She will be greatly missed by me and my children. Such a beautiful person on the inside and out! May her legacy live on in her children, grandchildren, great-grands and all those who knew her !
Love you always and forever, until we meet again! Fly high sweet angel.

Ruth Glover was truly a Grand Lady and one of a kind who accomplished so much throughout here life and work in Charleston. She had the uncanny ability to remember the face and name of everyone she worked with. I had the great privilege to learn to know Ruth when she served on the Palmetto-Lowcountry Health Systems Agency Board of Directors. May she rest in peace.

Dear Lynda, Lydia, Ruth Anne and dear Glover-Hammes family. I met Mrs. Glover when I was only 20 years old and she made a deep impression on me with her wisdom, generosity, kindness, wit, and laughter. Her stories, her gullah conversations, collections of elephants, succulents, and cobalt glass are ingrained in my mind. I wasn't officially family but she always said I was her Puerto Rican daughter. I love her very much and I will never forget all the love, hugs, and kindnesses she showed me. Thank you for sharing your Momma with me for these 45 years. Love to you all, Elba
