I first met cousin Ruth by telephone when I was planning a Kasell reunion in 2010. I had done some research to find her name & number. She was pleasant & so genuinely enthusiastic in helping me get names of family members & gave me lots of history on the family! He father & my grandfather Kasell were brothers & she & my mother were first cousins. I’ve been told she & my mother looked a lot alike! Cousin Ruth was able to attend that first Kasell reunion in Jacksonville Fl & the next year in Charleston. I am so thankful for her & how wonderful & helpful she was in connecting me with family I had never known before- including cousins in California! She was truly a treasure to me!! We had great telephone visits for awhile & she always seemed so happy to hear from me & me from her! I will miss you cousin Ruth!! You were a special lady! Prayers for your family. Love, cousin Sandra

We are going to miss Aunt Bertie. I can't help but smile when i think of her. We would chat for quite some time once on the phone or in person! We always enjoyed our times together. Love and prayers to Jimmy, Patty and family . Love Donna

Ruth always had an open ear and all the time it would take to listen and talk with you. She was always so detailed in what she did, and tried to keep up with current events. She also tried to keep good Christian believes. She had a major impact on my life.

I live in the Canterbury house and knew Ruth well. She was very kind and a true southern lady. She will certainly be missed. My condolences.
