It was my pleasure to get to know Ruth through the Mandarin Community Club. She was a very special person: so many things in one wonderful package. I still smile when I think back to when she portrayed "Diamond Lil" in Orlando a few ago. In my mind that was vintage Ruth. Lord knows I am going to miss her.

My sisters and I only met Ruth Daniel two years ago through my daughter who was a friend of Ruth's at Church of Our Saviour and we were delighted to learn that we were cousins through our
Great Grandfather Mercer as our grandfathers were brothers. We know that you children, sisters and brother will miss Ruth terribly as will our entire community that she was so dedicated to. We plan to meet some of you soon, as we rejoice with you in believing that Ruth is "absent from the body, BUT PRESENT WITH THE LORD" THROUGH HER BELIEF AND FAITH IN OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Hi Liz my sweet friend-I just heard about "Nanny" last night from Kris. Im so sorry for your loss. I know how much she meant to you. She was an important lady in "everyone's" life! I'll always remember her dancing at your wedding:)She's been a mother to all of us in one way or another. Please know we are here for you always! Give your mom a big hug for us! I hope to see you soon. All my love to you..

Harriet, Susan, and Harry,
There will never be another person like your Mom and my Aunt Ruth. She has been a second mother to me for 54 years. Our hearts are broken but our memories will keep her alive forever.
I love you dearly,
Cuzin' Diane

I only had the pleasure of meeting "Nanny" once and I completly enjoyed talking with her. She was full of life and energy. She's quite an example of the type of woman I hope to be as I grow in this life. My sincere condolences go out to Lizzy, I know how attached you two were. I will be praying for you.
