Russell Newby Obituary

NEWBY, Russell Russell E. Newby, beloved husband of Linda Newton Newby, died Saturday, August 2, 2008 at his residence in Charleston, South Carolina after a long illness. He was 73. Russell was born on June 8, 1935 in Otisco, Indiana, son of Vincent Jacob Newby and Allie Elizabeth Gilbert Newby. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Charlestown, Indiana and was a retired Plant Manager with Ford Motor Company. He was a member of Palmetto Gun Club. He is survived by his wife, Linda; one son, Mark E. Newby, and his wife Leslie of Charleston; one sister, Ruth Newby Friend of Charlestown, IN; three aunts, Reba Martin of Louisville, KY, Vayola Clapp and husband (David Clapp) of Marysville, IN, and Kathleen Rogers of Aiken, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Russell E. Newby are invited to attend his memorial services at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Friday afternoon, August 8, 2008, at three o'clock.
