Stephanie and Family, you don't know me but I was one of the many Westvaco employees who loved Russell and was helped many times by his willingness to help us figure out financial needs. He was truly a friend we needed many times. The Credit Union was never the same after he retired. Our prayers will continue for you and your family. God's blessings on you all.

I am so very saddened to learn of Russell's passing. He had a great vision for CPM, and I was fortunate to be part of it. He was a true gentleman, and will be greatly missed.

I worked with Russell at the Orangeburg branch from 1986 to his retirement. Even after his retirement, he continued to assist whenever needed.

Dear Easterling Family.
Saddened this morning to learn of the loss of Russell. Knew Russell through the Credit Union movement. I am a director with Anderson Federal CU.
Always enjoyed being around Russell and remember a conference in the D.C. area and we made a side trip to downtown Baltimore. Cold as could be and remember Russell wrapped up in a black trench coat and a Greek fisherman's hat pulled down over his head to keep warm. I miss him so much already.
Regards and my sympathy.

Russell brought "life" to the CPM credit union. We saw it grow into a respectable financial institution with Russell's friendly, caring offers to so many. He always greeted you with a big smile and probably a story relating some common interest. I can still hear his laugh after 40 years of CPM interactions, good memories. May God comfort you through this sad time.

Such a loss of someone that gave so much and required so little. In our 40+ years of friendship I feel comfortable knowing that "Easy" no longer is suffering and in a better place. Know one day we will share a cold one at his 19th hole, rest in peace my friend.

You lived life to the fullest, fought for what you believed in, enjoyed the world around you including family and friends. A leader in the community, volunteered to help others, a teacher of many things, including being a friend. There is no more suffering or pain for you now just comfort and peace. Yes there is heartache for Stephanie, the children, and grandchildren as well but the memories of love, laughter, and good times they will have to help them mend. Each of you are in our hearts and prayers. Please know you can call on us if you need anything, including a shoulder to lean on or someone to just listen. Russell will always be with each of us whose lives he touched in many different ways, so he's really not gone! Love and comfort to each of you.
