Ruby Wagers Obituary

WAGERS, Ruby ST. GEORGE - Ruby Lucille Wagers, 87, of 1750 Highway 15 North, widow of Albert W. Wagers, died Tuesday, January 09, 2007 at Colleton Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at Indian Field United Methodist Church with the Reverends Philip Watry and David Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday evening at BRYANT FUNERAL HOME. Pallbearers will be Dee Meadow, Monty Hope, David Wagers, Joshua Creel, Mark Davenport and David Cromer. Ruby was born on July 28, 1919 in Newberry County a daughter of the late John W. and Winnie O. Craven. She was a former employee for Carolina Girls Wear and was a member of the Indian Field United Methodist Church where she was active in the Country Living Senior Group. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Kaye Wagers Hendricks, brothers and sisters, Isaac Craven, Gary Craven, Ellis Craven, Carolyn Davenport, Ottie Bazzle and Reva Toomer. Surviving are three sons, Walter S. (Carol) Wagers, James P. (Mary) Wagers, both of St. George and Woodrow N. (Netta) Wagers, Chapin; two daughters, Alma (Jerry) Hutson, Denmark and Annie Mae (L.P.) King, Raleigh, NC; a brother, Gene Craven, Clinton; four sisters, Christine Buchanan, Isle of Palms, Ida Mae (Wilbur) Mitchell, Jacksonville, FL, Thelma Davenport, Newberry and June Cromer, Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Woody (Barbara) Wagers, Chapin, Sherry (Jeff) Collins, St. George, Susan (Richard) Hart, Bowman, Jennifer (Kevin) Weathers, St. George, Angie (Jordon) Harris, Columbus, Miss., Brian Wagers, Holly Hill, Chris and Stephanie Wagers, St. George, Renee (Monty) Hope, Cynthia Hudson, all of Columbia, Donna Smith, Kim Creel, both of Raleigh, NC and Stevie (Brandy) Vaughan, Collins, GA and 19 great-grandchildren.
