Ruby Metts Obituary

Ruby "Mickie" Martin Metts, 96, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired inspector for C.R. Bard, died Saturday afternoon, August 9, 2025, at her residence. Her funeral will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Entombment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening. Flowers will be accepted, or the family suggests that memorials be made to the Berkeley Animal Center, 131 Central Berkeley Drive, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Mrs. Metts was born November 12, 1928, in Conway, SC, a daughter of John Henry Martin and Emily Viola Williamson Martin. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, and was a former machine operator for William Heller and former Inspector for Bobbie's Sportswear. Her hobbies included gardening, going to yard sales, and watching soap operas and the Hallmark Channel. Mrs. Metts was also an avid Nascar fan with her favorite driver being Jeff Gordan. She loved to travel to Florida visiting Disney World and Daytona Beach. She was the widow of George Willis Metts and was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis L. Poston and Randy Poston; two daughters, Jeanine L. Metts and Beverly Butler; and a great granddaughter, Lillian Brown. Surviving are four daughters, Jackie Weiss and her husband Lynn of Moncks Corner, Peggy Faye Cleeve of Pinopolis, Sondra Clark and her husband Warren of Cross, and Charmin Shannon and her husband Victor of Moncks Corner; seventeen grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren plus one due to arrive soon.
