Ruby Huthmacher Obituary

HUTHMACHER, Ruby Entered into Eternal Rest in the early morning of April 26, 2005, in a local nursing home, Mrs. Ruby Elizabeth Nix Huthmacher, widow of George Wingate Huthmacher, Sr. She was born October 27, 1906, in Meigs, Georgia, the daughter of the late John Nathaniel Nix and Emma Estelle Davis Nix. She was predeceased by four sisters, Ruth N. Taylor, Ione N. Locklear, Irene N. Burnham, and Willie Mae N. Villeponteaux, and two brothers, Henry Nix and Johnny Nix. She is survived by four sons: George W. Huthmacher, Jr., and his wife Doris, of Mount Pleasant, SC; August Christian (Chris) Huthmacher of Sattelite Beach, FL; Reverend Herbert LeRoy Huthmacher, and his wife, Vivvian, of Johns Island, SC and Henry Ralph Huthmacher, Sr., and his wife, Rena (Vickie) of Bonneau, SC; two daughters, Betty Jean H. Crenshaw, and her husband Delray (Gene) of Goose Creek, SC and Helen Mae H. Barto, of Ladson, SC. She is also survived by a sister, Louise N. Southard of LaGrange, GA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren, and nineteen great-great grandchildren. A life long Christian, she was involved in Sunday School, Church Training, and the Women's Missionary Society for over forty years at the Dorchester-Waylyn Baptist Church of North Charleston, South Carolina until she moved her membership to the First Baptist Church of St. Andrews Parish in 1993. She attended Rice Business College and worked for about six months until she married Mr. Huthmacher on June 5, 1927. A housewife and mother, she raised her six children by herself after her husband died on October 19, 1944. Her funeral services will be held in Stuhr's Funeral Chapel, Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29, 2005. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery next to her husband. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2005. Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers, George Wingate Huthmacher, III, Hal Crenshaw, Ray Crenshaw, Grady Elam, Larry Elam, and Henry Ralph Huthmacher, Jr. Arrangements by J.
