Ruby Coville Obituary

Ruby Willingham Coville CHARLESTON - Ruby Willingham Coville of Charleston died on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital. She was born January 19, 1928 in Birmingham, Alabama and was the daughter of Thomas W. Willingham and Emelia Topi Willingham. Until the time of her death, she was employed by the Charleston Area Senior Citizens Center Meals on Wheels Program. She is survived by a son, William J. Southerland, III of Conway, SC and two daughters, Judith S. Bowers (Mike Bowers) of Charleston, SC, and Janice Southerland (Bruce Gibbs) of Asheville, NC, three grandsons (Judson, Bryan and Brette) and a great-grand daughter (Bea). She was predeceased by a son, Thomas M. Southerland. A private burial will take place at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Charleston, SC. Family and friends may call on the family at the home of Mike and Judy Bowers, 19 Country Club Drive, Charleston, SC between the hours of 4 pm and 6 pm on Friday, November 27, 2009 to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MUSC Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs, MUSC Foundation, 18 Bee Street, PO Box 250450, Charleston, SC 29425. I am very sorry to hear of Ruby's passing. As a high school classmate of Ruby's at Bishop England I enjoyed hearing from her recently. She was a wonderful individual. My condolences to your family.
