Royston Overstreet Obituary

OVERSTREET, Royston Entered into eternal rest on the evening of January 3, 2009, Royston Winston Overstreet, widower of Joan Weathers Overstreet. Residence, Hanahan, South Carolina. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at one o'clock. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Friends may call at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Monday between six and eight o'clock. Mr. Overstreet was born September 18, 1928 in Lynchburg, Virginia, the son of the late Page and Virginia Thomas Overstreet and a graduate of the E.C. Glass High School. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard, where he served as a shop planner in Shop #31. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Military Police, a member of Carolina Masonic Lodge #375, A.F.M., Omar Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite, V.F.W., American Legion Post II and Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He is survived by a son, Phillip R. Overstreet and wife, Barbara, of Hanahan; a sister, Joanne Martinez of Salt Lake City, UT; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Overstreet and Meagan Overstreet.
