Royal Murphy Obituary

MURPHY, Wilton EUTAWVILLE - Mr. Royal Wilton Murphy, 75, of 220 Cope Avenue, Eutawville, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at his home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, with Dr. David Brien officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. Mr. Murphy was born in Berkeley County, a son of the late Melvin Perry Murphy and Flossie Mae Windham Murphy. He was a graduate of Holly Hill High School and retired from Giant Portland Cement Company. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Brodie Murphy of home; three daughters, Lynn (Bill) Huffstetler of Orangeburg, Elaine (Bill) Bartlett of Johnson City, TN, and Elizabeth (Larry) Rickenbaker of Columbia; five step-children, Glen (Renee) Jeffcoat of Bamberg, Keith Jeffcoat of Charlotte, Scott Jeffcoat of Neeses, David Rumph of Edisto Beach, and Torey Parris of St. George; six grandchildren, Jason Huffstetler, Jordan Huffstetler, Will Bartlett, Maya Bartlett, Laken Rickenbaker and Janna Rickenbaker, 3 step-grandchildren, Baylor Jeffcoat, Sofie Jeffcoat, and Paige Parris; a brother, T. W. Murphy of Holly Hill; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Avinger Funeral Home, Holly Hill, and other times at the residence.
