Roxie Hodges Obituary

HODGES, Roxie Roxie L. Hodges, 97, Johns Island, widow of Guy C. Hodges, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at a local nursing home. Born April 22, 1909, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Samuel Wade Turner and Effie Mae Furthel. Mrs. Hodges was a retired Sales Clerk with Belk's Dept. Store. She was a member of the former Charleston Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mary Jean Power and husband Raleigh of Mobile, AL, one son, Conrad Dean Hodges and wife Ginny of Charleston, also included are grandchildren, Bruce H. Hodges, Connie H. Wilson, Sandra H. Crosby, Pamels H. Riggs, RoxAnn H. Stolvey all of James Island, Ginnie Lee Monferdini of Decator, GA, Paula H. Costello of Lugoff, SC, Guy Power of CA, Raleigh B. Power of Texas and Valerie P. Springer of Lancaster, Pa., and 25 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2006, 3 p.m., at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston. Burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park. A visitation will b eheld on Friday, November 3, 2006, 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Children's Shrine Hospital c/o Omar Shrine Temple 176 Patriots Point, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
