Rosemary Szczesniak Obituary

N. UTICA – Rosemary (Graziano) Szczesniak, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Born in Utica on December 4, 1941, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Ralph R. and Jennie (Ciccone) Graziano. She was raised and graduated high school locally. On October 9, 1987, Rosemary was wed to Richard J. "Dick" Szczesniak. They were a loving and devoted couple, evident to all who knew them. Together they shared 33 years prior to Dick's passing on May 13, 2020. Along with her husband, Rosemary owned and operated a local office supply company, from which she later retired. She was hardworking and dedicated to the very end. Rosemary was a fantastic caregiver, especially to her husband, always attentive to his health needs. Selfless by nature, she had the fortitude to face any obstacle. She also had a special sense of humor and loved to laugh, especially in the company of her loved ones. An artistic soul, Rosemary was very crafty and could create beautiful flower arrangements effortlessly. She loved to read, particularly mystery novels that kept her turning pages late into the night, and she spent much of her free time tackling engaging crossword puzzles. She also had a sweet tooth, and her eyes would light up at the sight of a chocolate pastry. Rosemary is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Joanne McHugh, Ralph Jr. and Christine Graziano, and Joseph A Graziano, Sr. and Barbara Asselta; nieces and nephews, Kevin Jr. and Brandy McHugh; Joseph A. Graziano, Jr and Melissa LaBarbera Shelly and Peter Barone; and Todd Graziano; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Ryan, Devin; Ali; Alex, Mia, and Amelia. She was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Mary Szczesniak. In keeping with Rosemary's wishes, her family will honor her life privately. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the final prayers and blessing for Rosemary which will take place on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Mausoleum Chapel in Calvary Cemetery. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. By family request, please omit floral offerings.
