Rosemary Koger Obituary

Rosemary "Didie" Renau Koger MT. PLEASANT - Rosemary "Didie" Renau Koger, 81, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Herbert Koger, Jr., entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 22, 2023. Her memorial service will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry at 4:30 pm. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until time of service. A private committal service will take place at The Citadel Columbarium at a later date. Didie was born November 20, 1941 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Frank Richard Renau and the late Earnestine Hughes Renau Gissell. She graduated from St. Andrews High School, Class of 1959, and attended The University of South Carolina. She had a wonderful personal career as Wife, Mother, Grandmother and a varied professional career as a business owner (Buy the Bunch Florist) and real estate broker. Didie was an avid supporter of her husband in his civilian and military career, receiving the United States Army "Commanders Award for Public Service", and serving as the State Volunteer Coordinator for the US Army Reserve Family Readiness Programs. Didie was awarded the state of SC "Order of the Palmetto" for her dedicated service to our US Army Reserve Families. Additionally, she served on the National Board of Reserve Officers Association Ladies. She loved the lowcountry and gave back to her community in so many ways. She was a member of the National Association of Realtors, S.C. Association of Realtors, Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, Charleston Trident Chamber of Commerce, and a former member of S.C. Small Business Development Advisory Council. Through her generosity as a business owner, she received several Mt. Pleasant Community Service Awards. Didie was the former Board President of The Charleston Civic Ballet and was a member of The First Baptist Church of Charleston. She will be remembered for her beauty, kindness and the way she loved her family. Didie is survived by her husband Herbert Koger, Jr., whom she married in 1959. They were happily married for over 63 years; her two wonderful children, Herbert "Trey" Koger III (Dawn) of Tucson, AZ, and Melissa Koger Watson (P.J.) of Mt. Pleasant; and three, well-loved grandchildren, Herbert "Chase" Koger IV, Emily Koger Thomas, and Philip Jackson Watson, Jr. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Shem Creek Health Center at South Bay for their compassion and professional care. A special thanks to her private caregiver, Sheila Boykin, for providing a loving, calming presence to Didie and her family for the last two years. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Charleston, 48 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29401, http://fbcharleston.org, or Alzheimer's Association SC Gift Processing, 4600 Park Rd., Ste 250, Charlotte, NC 28209. Herbie, Trey and Melissa,
It saddened me so to learn of Didie´s passing. We were friends when she attended James Island High School. I will always remember her delightful smile and outgoing personality. Through the years our paths would cross and we were always happy to see one another. The best God-given gift is that of memories and I´m sure you all have your share. I know your pain. My prayers are with you. May it be of comfort knowing how much she was love and respected by everyone.
