Rose White Obituary

Rose White HENDERSONVILLE, SC - Mrs. Rose Marie "Bunny" White, wife of Marvin M. White, died Tuesday at her residence. She had courageously battled lung cancer for three years. She was 66. Mrs. White was born October 1, 1945 in Charleston, a daughter of Linwood and Peggy Dyches. She was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School and Cosmetology School. She was the owner and operator of the Walterboro Beauty Salon and she practiced her profession for many years. She was also employed by Cherokee Plantation for several years and loved the owners and staff very much. She loved to paint with oils and watercolors and loved skiing, fishing, swimming and camping, but her greatest joy was sharing time with her grandchildren and loving them. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and she was a Cub Scout leader. She loved to play to play put-put golf, a game at which she was very skilled, and during her lifetime, she lived in four states: Florida, California, North Carolina and South Carolina. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Tobias J. White and wife Tracie and their children Caleb and Noah of Aiken; daughter-in-law, Renee White Corley and children Amelia and Joseph White of Hendersonville; half-sister Frances Myers; half-brother, Kenny Dyches; step-sister Helen Breland Givens and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Stuart I. White (SCDNR), adopted mother, Ella DeLong; step-father, Charlie DeLong; sister Ann Harvey; half-sister Linda Dyches; stepsister Betty Simpson and step-brothers C. C. and Louis DeLong. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Salem United Methodist Church with visitation will beginning at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary. Interment will be in Stokes Cemetery at Hendersonville. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. George Giles, Jr. and the wonderful staff at CHOS and to the Amedisys Hospice team of Andrea, Tina and Demeeka.
