Rose Lazarus Obituary

LAZARUS, Rose Rose Lazarus, 95 years old, widow of Barney Lazarus of Boca Raton, Florida, and London, England, died March 11, 2006, at Mt. Pleasant Manor Nursing Center. She was born December 21, 1910, in New York, New York, where she attended City College and worked in the fashion industry as a model. After her marriage, she resided in London, England, for 40 years and retired to Boca Raton, Florida, before she came to Cooper Hall Retirement Center in Mt. Pleasant seven years ago. Rose and Barney traveled extensively throughout their 63 year marriage, to the Orient, Europe, and various other countries around the world. During her many visits to Italy, she studied sculpture using marble, stone, and brass. She received several awards from various juried showings for her artistry. Rose is survived by her nephew, Harry M. Roggen and his wife, Lynne, of Sullivan's Island, SC and niece, Ann Wasserman and her husband, Lawrence, of Weston, Florida. Mrs. Lazarus was predeceased by her sisters, Florence Roggen and Lillian Oberweger, and niece Myrna Miller, and nephew Lawrence Oberweger.
