ASA TO THE FAMILY,
When GD(saw) decrees a thing it must be done. Sister Rose was such a sweet sister to us here in Chicago and we pray to GD(saw)that he grants her the peace and paradise she so richly deserves. She once made an ornamental tree and gave it to me and it sits here in my living room. I am blessed because of her quiet demeanor and her need to promote peacefulness. If I can be of service please contact me.

To all of the Idris Family,
I was so sad when I heard of this news that your mother passed away. Your mother and my mother; they were the best of buddies in their younger years. I cried and cried and cried and I didn't even know what to think or almost feel. I felt there was a piece taken from me before it was even made mine. I felt like she was the only vessell that I had left to the connection of my mother. She would tell me stories about the way that they met and all the things that they used to do. I really felt empty when I heard of the news. Elijah told me that If I remember Sister Rose they way that he remembers my mother, Jacquelynn, then they will always be alive in our hearts. And the strongest part of that is that no one can take that away from us. So instead of feeling sad and crying which is so much easier to do, I would like to celebrate the life of Sister Rose. I loved her ten-fold like she was MY mother. We had the best of fun when she and her daughter Sameerah came to Chicago. We had Bar-b-que's and spent the day at Navy Pier and had the best time of our lives. Although I miss you, I will also celebrate you. Those were the times to be had. And since I can no longer experience your physical presence, I shall embrace your spiritual essence and always keep you alive in my heart. Rest in peace, Sister Rose. And may the harness of safety always be with you and your children.
Love Always,
QuianaEme

I was glad to have a friend to wave to, as my wife and I marched in your neighborhood in the Martin Luther King Day Parade.

I met Bro. Idris when I helped out with the East Side CPAD patrols. As a African American male under 40, I was impressed that here was a man 60+ walking the streets at night trying to make his neighborhood a better place to live while men half his age and younger just sat there and looked. Bro. Idris also helped us out with our CPAD patrols in Chicora Cherokee.
Bro. Idris, you are a true inspiration and I thank you. I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. On behalf of the residents of Chicora-Cherokee, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. As Salim Alikom.
