Rosa Barron Obituary

Rosa Barron SUMMERVILLE - Rosa Maria Barron (nee Salas), 79, of Summerville, wife of the late David L. Barron of 52 years, entered into eternal rest at home, surrounded by her loving family, on July 14, 2023. Born on February 1, 1944, in Laredo, Texas, Rosa was a daughter of the late Julia Salas. Rosa was a loving wife, proud mother, doting grandmother, and longtime parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goose Creek, SC. She enjoyed bowling, watching figure skating and tennis, playing bingo, making crafts, painting, and making authentic Mexican food including her renowned tamales. Rosa was a dedicated employee of Sangaree Intermediate School in the Berkeley County School District for more than 20 years, first as a parent volunteer, then as an office clerk, attendance clerk, and media center assistant. Rosa is survived by her children: Dina Barron of Summerville, SC, David L. Barron, Jr. of Moncks Corner, SC, and Daniel Barron and wife, Tonya of Summerville, SC; her grandchildren, Connor, Josephine Rose, and Nora; her sister Anita Santos and her brother, Lenny Easterwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Barron, her grandparents, Rebeca Garcia Salas and Cesario Salas, her mother, Julia Salas, and her sisters, Cynthia Easterwood and Helen "Dolly" Joyce Ledesma. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 869 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445, (843) 553-1511. The Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 510 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC. The internment will be during a private ceremony held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rosa`s memory may be made to the American Heart Association at https://www.heart.org or the American Diabetes Association at https://diabetes.org. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted online at https://www.mcalister-smith.com.
