Frances Parfait Obituary

Frances Margaret Wilson Parfait, 82, a native of Grand Caillou and a resident of Houma, died at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ozema Parfait Sr.; children, Mary Alice Solet and husband, Pierre, Ann "Sylvia" Verdin and husband, Ivy, Terrell Parfait and fiance, Lavina Liner, Charles Parfait and fiance, Emma Billiot, Gerard Parfait and wife, Annette, Shirley Parfait Benoit and husband, Raymond, and Ozema Parfait Jr. and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Dr. Darrell Solet, Brian Solet, Donnie Verdin, Nikki "Nicola" Rodriguez, Nina Pontiff, Kevin Parfait, Catina Burton, Jerrard Parfait, Dawn Broussard, Ryan Parfait, Justin Parfait, Jeremy Parfait, Jonathan Parfait, Payton Parfait and Isaiah Parfait; step-grandchildren, Eric, Brandon, Kevin, Jared and Nicole; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Wilson; mother, Claudine Fitch Wilson; siblings, Juanita Roman, Ophila Solet, Eunice Dion, Agnes Trahan, Ervin Wilson and Rita Boley; stepbrother, Joseph Smith; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Solet and Jade Solet.

Frances was a devoted wife and mother. She was a parishioner and Eucharistic minister at Holy Family Catholic Church and Annunziata Catholic Church.
In the years before her passing, she was cared for by her loving husband, who provided for her every need as he doted on his "darling". They were a picture of love and dedication. The family has so many fond memories of her love, guidance and affection. Her house was a place of love, comfort and joyous times. While everyone in the family will certainly remember the holiday gatherings, each of us will mostly cherish their special quiet times with her when she imparted wisdom, congratulations and a comforting shoulder to cry on. The family will miss her dearly.
