I was greatly saddened by Ron's passing when Joan advised me of it. He and I were spirited competitors in Tennis & golf in Oswego, New York when he was Publisher of the Palladium Times, and I was retired after a 35 year career in TV. He was a great guy to know - always joking with a perrenial smile on his face, and with whom I shared some precious moments of friendship. He visited me here in The Villages, Florida and, in fact had a place for several weeks here... Our trip prior to this, in Europe, proved to be one "heck' of a time, and I preserve memories of it .
He will be greatly missed!!!

Charleston morning coffee get togethers

If there was a photograph on the cover of Dale Carnegie's book, How to Win Friends and Influence People it would be of Ron Waer. A great people person and one that will be missed.
Ron lived his life based upon doing whatever he could do to make a positive impact on others, no matter what the cost was to himself, and I will always remember him as a smiling, caring soul who always made time to help others.
Whenever I think of Ron, I'll remember one of our Charleston morning coffee get togethers. I am sure that anyone who knew Ron also knew that he was a devote GIANTS football fan and had been that way for the past 40 years. One night he called me and said he had something very important to tell me and we agreed to meet the following morning. He was so disgusted with how the Giants were playing that he was moving his loyalty to the Eagles, and I said, is that the "something important" you wanted to tell me? We both got a good laugh at that.

My condolences to the family. Ron was my football coach with the Andover Arrows fall of 1965. I remember is energy and enthusiasm. Ron and Gene Conquy were the radio announcers for my last high school game, Sussex Tech vs Netcong.

My deepest condolences to your family. I am Zuleka Ruth's great-granddaughter. Na(as we called her was great Uncle Ben's sister. My grandfather was Harry Struble Sr. I know it's distant family but there are not many of us left.

Ron was an amazing guy. He was like a brother/father to me. We shared so many good times. We never had a conversation that wasn't filled with laughter. He leaves a void in my life. Love and miss you Ron ❤
